IT'S CHRISTMAS – and Ed Sheeran should be in for the best festive celebrations of his life.
After cementing his reputation as the biggest star on the planet, I can reveal the singer has paid himself a staggering £ 73.4million this year in earnings from his Divide tour.
To put that in context, it's £ 201,000 a day.
It is an enormous increase on the £ 17.1million he paid himself last year and means he has trousered more than £ 90million in total from the international tour.
Details of the windfall are laid out in accounts for his company, Nathan Cable Touring LLP.
It turned over £ 114million in the 12 months to the end of March this year and £ 70million the previous year.
The huge amount of cash generated meant there was more than enough for Ed to take out the massive payment.
The Divide tour has taken more than £ 607million in total — dwarfing the turnover by global superstar rivals such as Taylor Swift. And because Ed plays unaccompanied, his costs are a fraction of those of other performers and bands.
It means he can keep huge amounts of money that others spend on overheads.
The singer signed off the paperwork for the accounts at the weekend, revealing that nearly £ 100million was earned in Europe.
The Divide tour took in 260 dates, starting in March 2017 in Turin, Italy, and ending in August this year with Ed's homecoming gigs in Ipswich.
It is the highest-grossing tour ever — though nobody could argue he doesn't deserve it.
That's going to be one hell of a turkey dinner tomorrow.

Adele of a do
ADELE looks trimmer than ever in these new Christmas party pictures.
She posed with a very realistic looking Grinch at ther own do for friends in LA.
The singer, who has lost three stone over the past few months, looked super glam in her off-the-shoulder gown.
Adele shared these snaps on Instagram and told fans: "We both tried to ruin Christmas but then our hearts grew! Thank you for coming to my party and making us feel like kids."
UK RAPPER J Hus has been accused of homophobia while plugging his upcoming album. He said: "Stop forcing LGBT onto us. Live your life... But don't force it onto me, especially when you don't wanna recognise the black struggle. "
Cardi's gift of loveGENEROUS CARDI B is really getting into the festive spirit.
Just days after giving her husband OFFSET £ 380,000 in cash for his 28th birthday, she's splashed out even more money on presents for needy children. The rapper spent almost £ 4,000 on a shopping spree at a toy shop in Miami.
The bumper haul of gifts, including dolls and games, were piled high on trolleys as she left the Target store.
She was later seen co-ordinating a team of helpers as they moved the haul into a removal lorry – ready to be wrapped and handed out to kids in need tomorrow.
I'm sure her kindness won't go unnoticed by Santa.
AUSSIE actor Chris Hemsworth has slammed claims he hired trucks of water for his garden in New South Wales amid the region's bushfires crisis. He said: "This is a complete lie. The truck was purely for drinking water."
Sobering moment for Ayda
AYDA Field was close to having a nightmare at Christmas when she thought her husband Robbie Williams, a recovering alcoholic, had relapsed.
The singer was performing in Las Vegas when he took a swig out of a fan's drink which he thought was soft.
He said: "In Vegas there's this guy, and I'm singing to him and he's got this can of what looks like a soft drink.
"I said, 'Is that a soft drink?' And he went, 'Yes'. And I took a sip and it was beer."
Robbie hasn't had a drink since 2000, having battled booze among many other addictions.
In 2007 he went to rehab to deal with a drug problem.
On his podcast At Home With The Williamses, Ayda said: "I had a mini crisis watching it happen, going, 'Oh my God, is this going to trigger a relapse'.
"Thank God it didn't, but I was like, 'That is a really irresponsible thing to do to an alcoholic when they've asked you if it was alcohol'."
And she said to Robbie: “I have seen people put a glass of wine in front of you, so not everyone knows about the raging alcoholism.”
Fair play to him, Christmas must be a harder time than most.

Jade's Sitting Pretty
Little Mix singer Jade Thirlwall is a Christmas cracker in this sequinned bralette and trousers.
The Geordie sizzled as she posed in the outfit, which is from the band's collaboration with online clothing brand Pretty Little Thing.
Jade went solo for the shoot, as her bandmates Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson are enjoying some well-earned time off after a busy 2019. But the band will not be putting their feet up for too long as next summer they 'll embark on a UK tour that includes headlining BTS in Hyde Park in July.
Mich a Super Duper
This is one of those rare occasions where I can get away with saying Michelle Keegan is looking incredible – because that is exactly her intention.
The former Coronation Street actress dressed up as Elastigirl, from Disney superhero animation The Incredibles.
Michelle's TV presenter husband MARK WRIGHT joined in the fun by pulling on a Mr Incredible costume.
He captioned the picture on his Instagram: “Do not f *** with us! Merry Christmas.” What a power couple they make.
John Eyes More La La
John Legend would love to be part of a La La Land sequel – but first he just needs to persuade the movie's writer and director Damien Chazelle.
John starred as jazz singer Keith alongside Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in the highly acclaimed film.
In an exclusive interview, we asked if John had heard about a La La Land sequel.
He said: "I have not. I might see Damien soon because I think we may go to a party that they're throwing, so I'll ask him. It was a beautiful film and I was so happy to have a small role in it.
"I've never heard him talk about a sequel, I'll ask him next time I see him."
La La Land – a tribute to the golden age of Hollywood – breathed new life into musicals and made £ 345 million at the box office worldwide.
It was nominated for a record-equalling 14 Oscars in 2017 and walked away with six – including Best Actor and Actress for the two leads and Best Director. If another instalment of the musical drama isn't on the cards, John would happily sign up to any of the movie-maker's other projects.
He explained: "Damien, I think, is a brilliant filmmaker and has already made two great music films with Whiplash and La La Land.
"He has a great ear for music and a great way of portraying music in film. That is a rare ability.
"If he ever wanted me to do anything else with him, I'd love to."
